Guess what? We're looking for a new team! Three new members will be added on February 18th, that's just a little over a week away! You will find all the detailsHERE. It couldn't be easier to apply! And if you haven't seen the kits, well.... I'll just show you the February Kit!
These are full-sized kits, packed with gorgeous papers and embellishments that are matched with the utmost care. You will LOVE crafting with them! That aside, we have a fun, friendly, supportive community in the Hen-house. Come and visit! We love new Chicks :)
Hello blog-hoppers! Happy Friday and Welcome to the Birds of a Feather Winterfest Crop 'n Hop! Hopefully, you have been directed here from Linda's blog. If you are just visiting (and weren't directed here from Linda's blog), please join us for the complete Blog Hop and Crop. All you have to do is start Here, hop from blog to blog, and finish up at the Birds of a Feather blog. To make it even more fun, we have a super interesting progressive layout challenge planned for you. IF you complete the entire Hop, you leave a comment on each participant’s blog, you complete the layout challenge AND you get it posted in the gallery by midnight on Sunday, December 16, you will be eligible for a FAB SCRAPS-Christmas Collection: Spiral Bound Book ($20 value)! It's full of gorgeous nostalgic papers for all your Christmas memories.
On to the next step in the progressive layout challenge! You've already finished assembling the basic sketch (found at Kristin's blog), added some stitching (from Nicole's blog), and a mixed alpha or mixed media title (from Linda's blog). Now it's my turn! I'd like for you to add some texture or dimension to your page. If you know me, you know that for me this means glitter! I am a Stickles-junkie and not afraid to say so LOL; I think it adds wonderful texture to a layout. I did manage to keep it to a minimum this time though. And I also popped up my chipboard frame for some extra dimension, and here's a peek at my page:
and here's a little close-up of my texture and dimension:
I used theDecember Kit for this layout and I am really loving the way it's coming together!
Okay, it's time to hop on over to Ann's blog to continue on with the fun! Remember, if you finish the entire hop, leave a comment on everyone’s blog, you complete the challenge layout (and get it posted in the gallery by the deadline) you are eligible for that darling FAB SCRAPS prize! Enjoy the rest of the crop and I sure hope you will join us over at the forums for a weekend full of scrapping, games and fun!
I love summer time and having the kids home all day with me, really.... but I will be the first one to admit that it's somewhat of a relief when they head back to school and we can all get into a nice routine again! That's as good a reason as any to have a little party, right? So..... I hope you are ready to get some scrapping done because the Chicks have been busy creating some super-fun and unique challenges for you! You will find the crop forums here. We're not only cropping either... we have another rousing game of Bingo this evening at 8:30 eastern time which nobody wants to miss! You can find out how to participate in this post. Check out all the different way you can win this weekend: Completing Crop Challenges Participating in Crop Games Bingo Facebook Fan Drive The FB Fan Drive is probably the easiest way to win... simply tell your friends to head on over to our page, click "Like", and then post a comment telling who sent them there. The person who has the most friends to do this will win a previous month's Kit of their choice! How simple is that?! And that's not all.... if one of your new-following friends becomes a subscriber by Sunday, September 16th, they will also win a free kit! A total win-win, wouldn't you say? And just in case you haven't checked out our kit's in a while, have a look at September's Kit! You have until next Wednesday to complete challenges -- that's nearly a week! Heck, I'll even find the time to scrap in a week :) The crop forums are public so you don't even have to be a registered member at the Hen-House to see the challenges. If you want to play Bingo or any of the games though, you'll need to register. It only takes a minute and we'll be checking regularly all weekend long to make sure new hens are activated as quickly as possible! So I hope you'll come play and chat and scrap with us!

If you didn't know about the hop (gasp!) and you stumbled here first, head on back to the BOAF Blog to find out how to play along. Here's the blog list in order, to give you an idea....
Here's the Grand Prize that one lucky hopper will win:
This gorgeous little mini-album kit by Maya Road in conjunction with Bella Blvd. is available only to retailers, but you can win it here! It's a $35 retail value and here's what's included:
~ Maya Road "Home" Mini-Album ~ 2 Full Blister-packs of Maya Road Mini Chipboards ~ Full Pack of Maya Road Kraft Tags ~ Pot of Maya Road Glitter ~ Maya Road Ink Pad ~ Full Tin of Ribbon Slides ~ Exclusive Maya Road "Home Is" Stamp ~ All papers needed to create this project ~ Step-by-step Instructions
And now for my crop-challenge for you, a recipe challenge! Sounds easy enough, right? Here it is:
1 piece of chipboard
3 different colors of cardstock
4 different patterned papers
5 different types of embellishments (not counting your piece of chipboard)
Is that the easiest recipe or what? Oh wait.... yes, one tiny little qualifier :) You must have some form of the word "Kiss" on your layout OR your photos must somehow involve a kiss. It doesn't matter who or what, it can be baby kisses, puppy kisses, wedding kisses, little girl with her favorite baby-doll kisses, Grandma & Grandpa kisses.... whatever you have. Just show me the kisses!!
Here's my example with, coincidentally enough, the Birds of a Feather February Kit featuring Basic Grey "Kissing Booth":
1 - chipboard bracket frame
2 - photos
3 - red, yellow, & Brown cardstock
4 - four different "Kissing Booth" papers
5 - cardstock stickers, diecuts, ribbon, and 2 different types of flowers
If you complete this challenge, upload it to my challenge forum on the message board. Each challenge will have a prize winner! If you are not yet registered on the board, you can do that here. It only takes a minute and we'll be watching closely for new registrants to activate.
The crop and blog-hop officially close on Sunday, but you will have until Wednesday night (the 15th) to get your challenges loaded into the forums and gallery.
Be sure to leave a comment here on my blog so I can see that you've been here, then head on back to the BOAF blog to leave a comment on the initial blog post that says you have finished it all! And then go get to scrappin' :) Have fun!
